January 2023 Meeting

This year started out strong. We had about 49 quilts turned in for the year in this month alone! Susan told us that she will get us a count from the left over quilts from last year. We should be on our way, then. We also had 3 visitors and potential members to help us sew.

We did not have a block to work on at this meeting, so Alice guided us through the Challenge Block that is due in April. It's not a difficult block, but you have to pay attention. Everyone was busy and productive getting those blocks completed.

February 2023 Meeting

Kathy Everhart brought a fun block called Twinkling Stars for us to work on. The blocks started piling up showing that a nice quilt top will come from them.

We also had nominations for President and 1st Vice President with voting to be held next month.

Go on over to the Quilt Gallery to see what we've done so far this year.

April 2023 Meeting

Meri brought a 'tulip' block for the group to work on. It was a fitting project with the lovely Spring weather we are having.

Alice Thomas was acknowledged for her service as our Vice President for more than one term. She has surely been an inspiration in setting up Challenges and other projects for us to meet our goals over the years.

Several members brought in their Challenge Quilts that were due today.

May 2023 Meeting

Quite a few pillowcases were made at the meeting. New members learned to make French seams for finished edges in the pillowcases. Several pillowcase kits were available for members to take home to finish.

Completed Christmas table runners are due at June's meeting in order to get a raffle ticket! Runners will go onto the fall craft tables.

June 2023 Meeting

We had a real treat at this month's meeting. Our own member, Dee, gave an informative lecture on thread and sewing machine needles. Although we have some experienced quilters in our Guild, everyone learned something new!

Quite a few Christmas table runners were turned in to meet the Challenge. Tickets were given for completed runners, and we were promised the winning ticket would get a nice gift at the Christmas Party.

Kathie B., Missy, Alice, and Susan had made up quite a few 3 yard quilt kits for members to take home and complete. They were all so nicely coordinated that it was hard to select just one!!

July 2023 Meeting

This was a busy meeting with several sewing projects occurring at the same time. Several pillowcases and senior bibs were completed. There was something for everyone to do.

We said goodbye to our dear member, Joyce Gwinner, who is moving out of state to be closer to her family. She has been a wonderful and active member of our little Guild and will be greatly missed.

Although it is summer with a few members on vacation, we had a visitor who is interested in our Guild's mission and in joining us.

With the quilts turned in at the meeting, it's looking like we are very, very close to our 165 goal! In addition, a number of items for the fall craft tables got turned in.

August 2023 Meeting

Kathy E. brought a beautiful block with fussy cut hummingbirds and coordinating coral and white half square triangles. Everyone enjoyed working with such pretty fabric.

Show and tell had some pretty amazing table runners and quilts that will go onto our fall craft tables. We have some creative and talented ladies in our Guild who are willing to share that talent with us.

Susan M., who sorts, counts, rolls, and stores our quilts, indicated that we may have met our 165 quilt goal for this year. She is giving us an updated count in a few days.

October 2023 Meeting

Our October meeting was decorated for Halloween by Missy and Kathie, who also provided a wonderful soup duo for lunch as well as goodie bags!! Kathie taught us, what looked to be a challenging bird block, but in reality was easy and fun to make! Meri will be teaching at our November meeting, but what that will be is a mystery. She only says 'It's not a quilt, and it is easy." Bring your machine and see what she has in store for us!

Don't forget that your card blocks challenge will be due at the December 10th holiday party. Turn yours in completed and be entered in the drawing.

There will be a sign up sheet for the pot luck at the November meeting.

Nancy Cain has regretfully resigned her position as Second Vice President due to travel and family plans. Alice has been appointed to finish out Nancy's term. Our thanks to Nancy and safe travels!

November 2023 Meeting

We did something a little different at this meeting. Rather than making a block, Meri brought a stack of fleece hats already cut out for us to sew together. These cute hats are thin enough to be worn comfortably under a hoodie. They will go to a homeless shelter.  Several members were absent due to illness, and we hope they recover quickly.

Please don't forget those card block challenge quilts that are due at the December 10th holiday party!!

Go over to the Member Page to see what you signed up to bring to the Christmas Party.
